Eligibility

Admission requirements for Germany

English-taught master's programs typically need IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 80–95. Basic German (A1–B1) is not usually required for admission but helps hugely with part-time jobs and full-time careers.

Undergraduate (bachelor's)

  • Class 12 plus Studienkolleg (or 1–2 years of university study in India, or JEE Advanced qualification for some programs)
  • German language (B2/C1) for most public bachelor's programs
  • APS certificate

Postgraduate (master's / MBA)

  • Relevant bachelor's degree; modules are checked against the program
  • Good grades (many programs convert to the German scale — 2.5 or better helps)
  • English: IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 88+ for English-taught programs
  • Motivation letter, CV (Europass) and sometimes LORs
  • GRE for selected programs (e.g., some TUM/RWTH courses)
  • APS certificate

Student visa

Working in Germany during and after your studies
